Walk Leader Celebration Event

We held a Walk Leader celebration event to celebrate and thank our dedicated 83 volunteer walk leaders, some of whom have been volunteering since the Health Walks started 17 years ago!

Every week the walk leaders deliver eight walking groups (including ability groups) across North Somerset, with an average of 250 walkers attending each week.

We heard inspirational stories from each Health Walk group about some of the walkers and Sally Retallick, Wellbeing Lead for Weston, Worle & Villages Locality; and Matt Lenny, Director of Public Health, came to give a short talk and update, and thank the volunteers.

We ended the event by giving our certificates to leaders who have been volunteering for 5, 10 and 15 years! We can’t thank the committed volunteers enough for all their hard work and effort they put in to making the Health Walks such a success!

If you would like to train to become a volunteer walk leader, for more information, visit our webpage.

Health Walks take place across North Somerset and offer short sociable walks to those who want to start and stay active. To find your local health walk, visit our Health Walk webpage.
