Case study
Before 53-year-old Heidi started the NHS Type 2 Path to Remission Programme (formerly Low Calorie Diet Programme) she struggled to find the time to get support for her type 2 diabetes around working full-time.
Heidi joined the NHS Type 2 Path to Remission Programme to help her lose weight and improve her type 2 diabetes management. As part of the programme, she has been working with a dedicated health coach throughout the total diet replacement and food reintroduction phases which has helped her:
- lose 21.8kg in 16 weeks
- reduce aches and pains significantly
- no longer take diabetes medications
- have much more energy since losing weight
- feel motivated to reach her target weight throughout the remainder of the programme.
Heidi said: “The programme so far has surpassed all of my expectations and dreams. The improvements made to my health have been so worth the efforts!”
