    Information about the scheme

The Healthy Workplaces and wider Better Health North Somerset team have partnered with Pier Health Group to deliver health checks within workplaces as part of a National pilot programme. We aim to deliver 2,600 health checks to employees aged 30 years old and over in their place of work before the end of March 2025.

These checks will spot the early signs of heart disease and provide people with the information they need to reduce their risk of having a heart attack, stroke, kidney disease or developing diabetes or dementia.

If your workplace would like to have the opportunity to offer these free health checks to your employees, please contact healthyworkplaces@n-somerset.co.uk

    Information for employees and employers

Most of us spend a large proportion of our time at work, whether that is going out somewhere to work or working from home. Workplaces plays a key role in contributing to the health and wellbeing of employees, which in turn supports the health of the organisation.

Workplace health checks are available in participating workplaces for employees aged between 30 and 74 years old who haven’t been diagnosed with conditions like coronary heart disease, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, transient ischaemic attack, familial hypercholesterolaemia, heart failure, peripheral arterial disease or stroke. The health checks are available for employees who haven’t had a NHS health check in the last 5 years.
