I joined HEN as I hadn’t lost weight following having my baby and I felt in a rut with mot exercising and not having a healthy diet. I felt like this was impacting the whole family. Myself and my husband needed to lose weight. I want my children to be eating more healthily. I haven’t been feeling good about myself and although I have wanted to make changes I have lacked the discipline required.
I started the group and I would say it took me a couple of weeks to really get into it but after attending for a couple of weeks and getting to know the other mums and getting to know the group leaders I started to really enjoy the sessions. We shared tips with each other on how to tackle cravings. Healthy meals to try that would be great for the whole family, including fussy children! And I started to feel really motivated. I really enjoyed the buggy walk we did each session and became competitive in beating my time from previous weeks. I also enjoyed doing “mummy and me” exercises that I could do with my baby.
I feel really proud of my achievements through this course. I have lost weight and feel so much more confident and motivated. I feel as though I am out of a rut and my whole family are eating better. I definitely plan to continue with the changes I have made.
